About Niranjan Hegde

Niranjan Hegde

A Promising Hindustani Bansuri Performer in India

Niranjan Hegde hails from Manchikeri, a culturally rich hamlet in the greeneries of the Western Ghats in Uttara Kannada. Known for nurturing many renowned artistes like Pt. Ganapathi Bhat Hasanagi, Pt. Shripad Hegde Kampli, and Pt. Nagaraj Hegde Shirnala, Manchikeri continues its legacy with Niranjan emerging as a promising flautist.

Born on 24th March 1992 to Shri Raghupati Hegde and Shrimati Mahadevi Hegde, Niranjan was surrounded by music from a young age. The vibrant cultural scene of Manchikeri, from Yakshagana shows to Hindustani Classical Music concerts, fostered his love for music.

Encouraged by his parents, Niranjan commenced his training in Hindustani flute under Pt. Nagaraj Hegde, a senior disciple of Pt. Venkatesh Godkhindi, at Gokula Bansuri Gurukula, Shirnala. For over 15 years, Niranjan has been rigorously trained in the Gurukul tradition.
